Richard Harrison is an Australian author, cricket umpire and speaker.

Richard resides on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, having spent the best part of ten years living in England, where he launched and developed the iconic Australian garden maintenance franchise – Jim’s Mowing throughout the UK.

His many, and hilarious gardening misadventures (in and around the affluent commuter town of Sevenoaks in Kent), became the subject of his first book – The Export Gardener, before he returned to Australia and wrote – First Tuesday: Any Price a Winner . . . Even murder! a gripping murder mystery, set against the backdrop of the Melbourne Cup.

His third book – Stumped: One Cricket Umpire, Two Countries is a light hearted and truly unique memoir, that presents any number of wonderful anecdotes from his fifteen year cricket umpiring career, in both England and Australia, with a brief (but eventful) village cricket playing career thrown in.

He is currently working on a new book entitled – Positively Pazzo: Learning Italian Late in Life. The plan being to spend a couple of months travelling, eating and drinking in Italy, in order to complete the work.

An entertaining and engaging speaker, Richard is available to attend corporate, social and fundraising events throughout Australia. He can be contacted via email – contact@richardharrisonbooks.com or by phone 0478 007 613.
